A tulip-rose sunrise before my sunset... poetry/ free-write

I thought you smelled nice
so I followed you in sweet dreams of September morning dew
Placed you in my hair for vanity and good luck

Stared between your iris
And skipped on the path of broken promises in searching
All because your fragrance lured me with temptation

Squeezed you between loose leaf binders
As keepsake
Keep memories
safely trapped in the folds of consciousness
basking in the amazement of the dynamic flaws in your colors

Created murals in your resemblance
Because I knew you wouldn't live long

Accentuated thorns since they were a part of our story
Linear and ever weaving turns in twilight

Captivated by the length of your grace
Stemmed truth in the cusp of a butterflies wings
Teased them to fly back to me to get one more whiff of an illusion in bloom

Sometimes i feel sorry for those who never take the time to get know you

Its as though G-d birthed you in closed nightmares & opened my eyes to see all your pedals in sunrise

Kiss me in the dew of September before
I fall asleep
